Acne Treatments: All What You Need to Know About It

Acne is a common medical condition that affects up to 80% of adolescents and adults at some point in their lives. Adult onset acne has become a growing concern for people in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Although acne is not a grave disease, it can leave permanent scarring on the skin, and negatively impact an individual’s self-esteem. Clearing up acne can help relieve these issues, but many people don’t realize there is something that can be done.

First of all, let's understand a little bit more about Acne...

What is acne?

Acne is one of the most common skin problems, characterized by whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and, in some people, deep, painful bumps that look and feel like boils. When it’s severe, acne can cause permanent scarring of the skin. And those are just the physical problems.

What causes acne?

These are many factors that contribute to the development of acne, including hormones and genetics. The most common reason is due to hormones. As we age, the level of hormones in our body fluctuate. The most notable instances of significant hormone increase associated with an outbreak of acne are during puberty and pregnancy. These hormones have an effect on the activity and size of the sebaceous glands in the skin that produce an oily substance called sebum to protect the hair follicles and the skin. When hormones surge during puberty or pregnancy, the sebaceous glands enlarge in the areas where acne occurs. There is also a genetic component involved with acne. Individuals might inherit an increased chance of suffering from acne if their parents did.

And now, the good news: there are many treatments and packages available!

Blue LightTherapy

P. acnes, the bacteria responsible for causing acne inflammation, pump out tiny molecules called porphyrins. When the porphyrin are exposed to certain wavelengths of light (Blue Light in this case), they produce free radicals that kill the bacteria. Without P. acnes around to cause inflammation, acne clears up.

LaserTreatments IPL pulsed light is delivered through the skin’s surface triggering the body’s natural bacteria fighting defenses. These defenses kill the problem bacteria, reducing the severity of current and future breakouts. Laser Genesis utilizes non-invasive laser technology to safely, discretely and effectively treat fine line wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, diffuse redness and scars. The gradual high temperature of laser genesis kills acne bacteria. It also has very strong healing properties. Laser Titan employs light energy because it provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating and healing the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radiofrequency).

Chemical Peels

This involves a uniform and controlled shedding of skin layers using a topically applied exfoliating solution. The number of layers to be exfoliated and solution strength will depend on the nature and depth of treatment required. Damaged, outer layers of the skin are removed exposing the soft, clear and radiant underlying skin.

Microdermabrasion

The attached to the hand piece fine diamond crystals clean the skin, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin. These tiny crystals act as an exfoliant to remove the dead skin cells and promote the production of new cells and collagen to even out skin texture and tone. Improvements in appearance and texture will occur with successive treatments.

Deep Pore Facial

To cleanse, disinfect and balance the Micro Flora of oily skin prone to pimples, pustules & comedones. Laser Genesis and Oxygen RX Acne Treatment or Enzyme Facial Treatment.
