PRP Hair Loss

Stimulate Hair Growth

While hair loss is usually associated with men, both men and women can experience thinning hair, a receding hairline or balding as they age. PRP  (platelet-rich plasma) therapy for hair loss is an innovative treatment that stimulates the hair follicles to stimulate new hair growth.

The PRP process involves harvesting platelet-rich plasma from your body. A small amount of blood is drawn and is spun in a centrifuge to separate the regenerative cells and growth factors. The result is a concentrated healing platelet-rich-plasma which is injected into the scalp to trigger natural hair growth. The growth factors within PRP promotes regrowth of cells, including skin formation, blood vessels, and collagen.

A special collection tube is used to draw your blood and it is placed into a centrifuge.

After 10 minutes of centrifugation, the platelets are concentrated and draw up into a syringe.

Using a small needle, the platelets are then injected strategically into your scalp in the areas that need improvement.

How many PRP hair loss treatments will I need?

Most people will need 3 to 4 treatments at monthly intervals. Some patients will require maintenance therapy once a year or more depending on the severity of hair loss.

When will I see results?

You stop losing hair immediately after treatment, and your hair will appear fuller within 3 to 4 months as the new hair grows. Further improvement is noticed in the subsequent months.

Is PRP hair loss treatment painful?

There is minimal discomfort. A numbing gel is used to reduce pain sensation considerably.

Are there any side effects or complications?

Some bruising and swelling may occur but will resolve in a few days.
